FURNITURE CENTRE HISTORY & INFORMATION
The store is located just off the A350, in Crockerton Shopping Centre which was one of the First out of Town Shopping Centres in the Country. Many people who live locally will remember Normans Cash & Carry being downstairs. Since Norman's has gone we have got furniture over two floors. The main showroom is upstairs but downstairs also has a mixture of items including recliners, chairs, beds and much more.
For those who find stairs difficult we have a chair lift available for everyone, all you need to do is press the bell downstairs and a member of our team will come and operate the chair for you. This however does have a weight limit of 18 stones.
Although our building is old please make sure you come and have a look around as we have been told we are a bit of a hidden gem.
On site there is a large free car park which has spaces right outside the shop. There are also other businesses on site including; Gray's Carpets and Lakeside Garden Centre, inside the Garden centre you will find a coffee shop.
Mark has been in the furniture industry all his life, and Janie has been at Crockerton since we opened, after coming from a furniture manufacturing background, but having Furniture in her blood, her Grandfather being Jack Haskins, both Mark & Janie's families started together at the local markets and since both have gone on to run successful furniture businesses. Mark has been running our Sister Store Ilminster Warehouse where he has been for over 25 years. At Ilminster they offer a similar range of products to Crockerton however they also have DIY and electrical products.
Having both stores enables us to buy quality stock at the right price therefore offering you the customer the best/honest price you can find. At Crockerton we don't do weekly or monthly sales, you can occasionally find clearance items but these could be ex display or stock items. out main mission is to ensure that as a customer you have a satisfactory experience as without you , we wouldn't be able to carry on. This website is not a selling site, this website is here to show you some of the items we have in our store and which companies we deal with. As you can see below there are the logo's of all our suppliers, if you double click into the websites it will show you complete ranges.
When shopping for suites or furniture it is important to have measurements of the room you are putting the furniture into, the size of your old furniture and the sizes of the doorways as when selecting some items they can be quite large. we are seeing that houses are getting smaller and settee's are getting bigger. If you are worried and not sure about your measurements we can send a member of staff out to you to measure and check before you place your order and make your final decisions.
When purchasing furniture with us we ask that you provide us with a deposit in order to secure your order and that the balance is payable upon delivery. Offering free delivery within a 30 mile radius of the store, this is done by our own staff Monday through to Friday. If you require your products to be unpackaged and positioned in the room we can do this along with removing the empty packaging. we also offer a disposal service for getting rid of your old furniture but this may incure an extra charge.
We like to ensure that all customers have a pleasant experience in store so while shopping with us we will not chase you around. We will allow you to have the chance to wander and do things at your own speed. We let you decide what you need but when you do have questions we are on hand to help.
